Corona Virus: Delta State To Close All Institutions As Advised My NANS

NANS TO DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT: TIME TO DO THE NEEDFUL, CLOSE OUR CAMPUSES AND INSTITUTIONS AGAINST CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has called on Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to order the closure of all tertiary institutions, basic and secondary schools across the State against the deadly Corona Virus Pandemic (COVID-19) before it’s too late.

This call became necessary, owing to the various complaints, we have received from parents and guardians, that there is no preventive measures in our schools yet across the country. The lives of our fellow students are precious and we must not fail to protect them where necessary.
This is inline with the united global response towards the deadly disease, which calls for an urgent and efficient intervention by all government and it’s agencies across the country.

As a State, we must not wait till such a time, when it becomes difficult to control before we act, we believe in the proactiveness of this State government, and we have no doubt that Governor Okowa will once again show leadership by ordering the closure of all our institutions for the time being, while putting adequate necessary measures in place to checkmate all of such cases in the State, to guard against the spread of the virus. We must make hay while the sun shines.

In the same vein, NANS uses this medium to call on our fellow students and the public in general to observe adequate sanitary measures, as we are poised to defeat this pandemic in no distant time, standing together as one indivisible human race.

Viva!!!
