Wisdom Class Organization To Mobilize For Credible, Free, and Fair Elections in n Delta State

In every election, voter and civic education are necessary to assure that all constituents—men and women understand their rights, their political procedure, the contests they are being asked to decide, and how and where to vote. For an election to be successful and democratic, voters must understand their rights and responsibilities, and must be sufficiently knowledgeable and well informed to cast ballots that are legally valid and to participate meaningfully in the voting process.
Dr. Uche Esegbue, Convener Wisdom Class and Director, Lifecare Centre for Creative Development and Recovery, has called on the Delta State Governor, H.E. Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to ensure the conduct of credible, free, and fair elections come March 6th, 2021.
While speaking to the press, Dr. Uche announced the convocation of a stakeholders forum to commence mass mobilization of grassroots participation in the forthcoming elections .
According to Dr. Esegbue, everyone has a role to play in ensuring credible elections and the organization will organize a symposium on Democracy, Good Governance, and Education: Rethinking the Way Forward. The event billed to hold in Delta State University, Abraka on February 20th with the theme: Power to the people.
The symposium is to educate and empower the people to respond positively to electoral and democratic developments in the country. Urging that free and fair elections play a critical role in political transitions by advancing democratization and encouraging political liberalization – helping to promote peaceful, democratic political transformation that leads to increased stability and prosperity.
Students, Lecturers, youth corpers, market women, which will form the bulk of our target audience, and electoral officers and government officials will receive special focus during the campaign for good governance and credible elections, he added.
Wisdom Class Organization is a youth-led organization championing activities that promote good governance, community development, women empowerment, youth mentorship, and rehabilitation domiciled in Delta State University, Abraka.
