Most people who seriously consider suicide do not want to die. Rather, they see suicide as a solution to a problem and a way to end their pain. People who seriously consider suicide feel hopeless, helpless, and worthless. A person who feels hopeless believes that no one can help with a particular event or problem. A person who feels helpless is immobilized and unable to take steps to solve problems. A person who feels worthless is overwhelmed with a sense of personal failure.

During the week, Wisdom Class Convener, Dr. Uche Paul Esegbue, a drug abuse, and suicide prevention campaigner, came into the scene of rescuing a Victor Amaasonwan, a 200L student
of English and Literal Studies, Delta State University, Abraka, who have attempted to commit suicide after losing savings marked for school fees in his POS stand.
According to the student, things have been difficult for him since he has nobody taking care of him from the onset.

“Despite the fact of my ugly situation, I was determined to acquire a formal education which was why I did Okada business several years and later bought a POS machine for business”, the victim explained.

Responding to SunViewNews the Convener of Wisdom Class Organization, Dr. Uche Esegbue, narrated the odds surrounding the attempted suicide. He said the victim who was rescued from attempting suicide had no option but to contact the Organization for help.

While emphasizing, Dr. Uche said the odd persisted after his sales girl disbursed the sum of fifty-five thousand naira only (55,000.00) to a customer who allegedly credited them with a fake bank alert. “He became curious as the creditor was untraceable, and has long saved the money to generate profit in furtherance of his academics, Dr. Uche added.

While soliciting assistance, Dr. Uche called on good Nigerians in helping the 200L student and urged people to share their thoughts before attempting that suicide as suicidal opinion is not a remedy to any problem.
